Pregnant In Belgium!

www.thevillage.be closed on the 1st October 2024 - a huge loss to the expat community in Belgium.  So, to fill the vacuum and ensure expat expectant and new parents in Belgium can access the information they need to navigate the Belgian maternity services with confidence I have created ‘Pregnant In Belgium’.

It is a 'work in progress' The site may need improvements in navigation and layout. But, all the information was correct at the time of launching.

If you see anything that needs fixing or content you feel is missing - LET ME KNOW! Plus, I welcome your suggestions for what you would like to see on the site, would you like to contribute to the blog posts?

So, who am I?

I am a Brit who has been in for Belgium 18 years. A childbirth educator, hypnobirthing teacher and first aid trainer who is passionate to help you make the most of the medical system you are in, make sure you are well-informed and understand the implications of the choices you make. Most importantly, give you the tools you need to release fear and learn to trust your body, your instincts, and your baby.

It is so exciting to be working in collaboration with Emily Gold and Jane Piot, two amazing childbirth educators/doulas to create a complete pregnancy, labour and birth, breastfeeding and postnatal education course. Holistic classes that focus on enabling you to navigate your journey through pregnancy and into parenthood with confidence. With opportunities to meet others and burst the bubble of isolation that being an expat can bring.
