Some midwives work alone, others group together and form a group practice. This is not an exhaustive list so do ask your gynaecologist, mutuelle, friends and colleagues for their recommendations.

These are the two official, professional associations for midwives in Brussels. Both have a ‘search’ function on their websites

Belgian Union of Midwives

The Professional Union of Belgian Midwives is a professional association representing all midwives. (French speaking)

Vlaamse Beroepsorganisatie van Vroedvrouwen

The Flemish Professional Organisation of Midwives is a non-profit organisation for and by midwives. (Dutch speaking)

A group of independent midwives based in Brussels who can assist home and hospital births. Prenatal and postnatal support care in English, French and Flemish.

An association of midwives offering a holistic approach to pregnancy and childbirth.
Specialists available in shiatsu, physiotherapy, perineal reeducation, body-mind therapy and massage, psychology, Feldenkreis method, homeopathy, baby massage, hypnobirthing and osteopathy. Also doula service in French.

Le Frambiosier

Seven midwives, working together in a place dedicated to birth, in Forest (bordering St Gilles), support pregnant women, couples, and families in the birth of their baby. They can follow you throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
